In the heart of Sydney’s CBD, Izakaya Michi’s unique timber interior creates a timeless yet traditional feel for the Japanese restaurant.
Resembling a makisu or bamboo sushi mat, battens line the interior of the Sydney restaurant. Michiru Design Studio utilised Ever Art Wood® timber look Koshi Battens as a feature on the restaurant’s ceiling. Realistic enough to be used adjacent to real timber, the aluminium battens seamlessly transition into natural timber dowels down the walls and into the seating areas.
The space was shortlisted in the Hospitality Category, for the Interior Design Awards (Australia) in 2019.
