Reminiscent of a towering bamboo forest, Calibre’s signature undulating timber look batten screens effortlessly meld with the cosmopolitan streetscape of Surry Hills, NSW.
Situated on the fringe of Sydney’s CBD, this “urban sanctuary“ has been designed by Koichi Takada Architects. The linear batten facade, softened by curves, welcomes natural light and maximises city views.
With a vision of creating a soft, relaxed environment in which residents can unwind, Ever Art Wood® aluminium timber look battens in colour Oku were chosen, with the oak colouring and natural finishes carrying through to the interior apartments. Ever Art Wood’s polymer film exhibits a design derived from actual timber species, to create an incredibly realistic appearance. With every detail of paramount importance, a custom texture was also applied to enhance realism. Fade resistant, the realistic timber like battens will maintain their appearance without ongoing oiling or treatments.
Ever Art Wood® battens, engineered in Japan, proved both a functional and economical alternative to real timber battens. Dimensionally perfect, the Kabebari battens comprise two sections, with one affixed to the structure and the other simply snapping on, simplifying installation and concealing all fixings. Available in long lengths, the battens enabled a streamlined, uninterrupted linear aesthetic.
