A testament to the beauty of simplicity and the artistry of geometry, this Windermere abode in Orange County, Orlando, is a masterful fusion of minimalist elegance and midcentury inspiration.
The interplay of horizontal and vertical lines adorn feature ceilings and walls in a stunning two-toned timber batten design. To achieve the strict geometry across the expansive space, it was imperative the battens be dimensionally perfect.
The Covet Kabebari timber look aluminum batten was the obvious choice. The perfectly straight, lightweight, and conceal fix Covet Kabebari series ensured a seamless installation without visible screws.
The realism of the Japanese-made timber look aluminum had to be convincing due to the intimate interior surroundings, and proximity to modern timber furnishings and artwork.
And the extensive color palette inspired the project designers to add a dash of artistic flamboyance through randomized patterning of two distinct and rich Covet Ever Art Wood colors.
The Covet batten was the perfect material for the designers to realize their vision.
The result was a striking feature ceiling and wall detail, indistinguishable from real timber in appearance, color, and texture, with the absence of any visible screw fixings or fasteners.
The meticulous design and craftsmanship not only serve as an artful mid-century timber backdrop. It also functions as a privacy screen for the upper bedroom overlooking the ground floor.
Spanning a large window, natural light filters through the varied batten spacings, creating an ever-changing play of shadows and patterns that dance across the space.
The interior of this home reflects the owners' discerning eye for art, with touches of midcentury inspiration seamlessly integrated into the decor.
Throughout the residence, an impressive array of sculptures, paintings, and midcentury furniture transform the dwelling into a captivating personal gallery.
Each piece tells a story and a testament to the owners’ love for art and midcentury aesthetic.
The designer and client were able to transform a flamboyant idea into a visually stunning sanctuary where the lines between living space and art exhibit blur. Every moment a unique and cherished experience, the abode is a heartfelt ode to the owners' love for the art and design of the midcentury era.
